Nature is the ultimate classroom here at Red Barn Farm. Children have a unique and up-close opportunity to learn about the animals that live on the farm. Tour activities vary by season and can be customized to include a hayride, a visit to the pumpkin patch and more.

In the fall, you have many options to customize your tour for your class. You start with the basic barnyard tour, which includes visiting all the animals, going through the prairie trail maze and having fun at fort hay bale.
The basic tour takes 90 minutes. Additional activities include a trip to the pumpkin patch to pick out a pumpkin, an orchard tour to learn about how apples grow and apples to take home, a hayride and a trip to the observation bee hive to see the bees in action and get a honey stick. Each activity adds 15-20 minutes to your total tour time.You can mix and match these activities to fit your needs.
Tour InformationTours may be scheduled to begin between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. School tours are available for groups of 20 or more, Monday through Friday only. Please be sure to allow for travel time. Fall tours take approximately 90 minutes.
Admission & Activity Pricing Our basic fee is $4.25 per person, with a minimum of 20 paying guests (teachers and school employees are free). All parents and siblings over age two will be asked to pay admission.Add $1.50 to add the pumpkin patch (includes a small pumpkin) or the Apple Orchard activity (includes apples) - to your basic tour. To add the Hayride, or the Observation Bee Hive Tour, add $1 for each of these additional activity.Picnic AreaGroups are welcome to use our picnic area. We have many picnic tables, and will lay out tarps if all the tables are taken.

Monday through Friday before 2 p.m., our staff is working with school tours. Admission to the barnyard during this period is obtained by paying the school tour fee and accompanying one of our tour groups or doing a self-guided tour. You can purchase admission to the barnyard at the information booth or in the country store. There is no admission fee after 2 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays during the farm season.
